There are already people exploring how to add NFSv4 acls to the ext4
filesystem. IIRC, Andreas Gruenbacher posted an announcement of some
basic code to do this a couple of weeks ago (either on this list or on
the IETF list, I can't remember which).

There was also a workshop at Sun's facilities in Colorado this week in
order to work through the problems with using posix acls on NFSv4. In
particular, the whole issue of the acl mask that I mentioned earlier.
