Kernel or nfs-utils?  If it's the kernel I'll have to abandon NFS4
since the target systems are running Redhat AS 4.4 which is only at
2.6.9.   Many of these are Oracle servers so any upgrade will, in
addition to teh other testing requirements, have to be officially
supported by Oracle.

If it's only nfs-utils I can reasonably argue that they won't affect
the database performance.   The testing requirements read like they
were written by a committee of Luddites but I might have a chance.

Another thought occurred to me.  Is there some authentication required
between machines?
