NFS consistency problem?

Actually, have not read this. I have by now and I understood, that maybe the 
mount options noac and nocto are, what I'm looking for. I tried both and the 
problem still remains. 

It seems, one of the clients always has exclusive write rights and these 
rights only change if a file is not only written but also displayed. So, if I 
do an "echo A >> file.txt" on one machine and "echo B >> file.txt" on another 
machine sequentially, I will get a lot of As and no Bs (or otherwise). 
One "cat file.txt" might change that with the result being a row of As 
followed afterwards by a lot of Bs. 

It reminds me a bit about Schroedingers file ;-)
