This bothers me.  I can see that it might be right, but it still
bothers me.

It is essentially saying that svcauth_unix is a very fundamental
authentication mechanism that every other mechanism will interact with
in some why.
This offends my sense of elegance.

But it does seem to agree with reality. 

Maybe I should just be glad that I still have some sense of elegance
still intact after working with NFS for so long :-)
