I'm working on mount.nfs now.  Steve Dickson maintains libtirpc.  I  
will need to look at rpc.statd once I have completed IPv6 support in  
the kernel's NLM.

The server-side user space components (rpc.mountd and the exportfs  
command) would be an easy chunk to break off.  You might start by  
asking the Group Bull team what parts of this are already prototyped.
