well, I'm not sure what the text in the road map meant exactly...

What I rebased is the code in Ricardo's linux-pnfs-2.6-latest tree
which derived from the 2.6.18.3 implementation, was ported to 2.6.23,
and was partially (the session part) rewritten.

Rebasing the 2.6.18.3 code base is possible.  However, following the
discussion we had on the mailing list I got the impression that we want
to move forward with the 2.6-latest code base and port the rest of
what's left in the 2.6.18.3 code base "manually" (in contrast to
using git for that).
