[pnfs] pnfs 2.6.18 bakeathon patches

Multiple branches are doable.  It's kind of painful to maintain them
though. 

Is there a fundamental problem with the GETDEVICELIST patch that needs
to be implemented in a different way going forward in 2.6-latest?
